Zlatan Ibrahimović

Zlatan Ibrahimović (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈslaːtan ɪbraˈhiːmovɪtʂ], Bosnian pronunciation: [ˈzlatan ibraˈxiːmɔʋitɕ]) is a Swedish professional footballer that was born 3 October 1981. He is one of the most well paid players in the world and have spent most of his career in Serie A in Italy but have also played in Barcelona and Ajax. He has played in Milan, Inter and Juventus in the Italian Serie A. He currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain where he plays as forward and striker.

His career started in Sweden in the late 90s when he played for Malmö FF. He was signed by Ajax and quickly made a name for himself that catapulted his career. He has won a number of different individual trophies such as he Italian Oscar del Calcio and the Swedish Guldbollen. He has been a part of winning the Scudetti, the Italian championships, 4 times. 3 of which was in a row with inter. In 2009, he transferred to Barcelona for €69 million, the second highest transfer fee in football history. He never fitted well into Barcelona and returned to Serie A the next season to play for Milan and win his 4th Scudetti.

Zlatan Ibrahimović has a reputation for being one of the best players in the world but also for “having questionable temperament” and not always giving 100%.

The transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimović to Paris Saint-Germain in July 2012 valued him at €180 million which made him the most expensive football player ever and the transfer also made him the second best paid footballer in the world behind Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o. He is garanteed atleast €14 million a season during 3 years plus bonuses depending on how he and the team perform. €14 million equals USD 17.2 million
